Black Asper - Betung Hitam/Dendrocalamus asper black

Black asper bamboo.

This is it......the legendary giant black bamboo.  When grown with sufficient water, this plant will grow upwards of 80-100 feet tall with canes at least 8-10 inches, and quite likely up to 12 inches in diameter.  That’s a big cane. As with other black bamboos, the canes will retain their black color post harvest.

Aside from being a drop dead knock-out, the canes are world class construction material and the shoots are sweet and non-astringent.
