The common name of this bamboo around here is ‘the one everyone wants’.
From Central America, this bamboo will grow to about 25 feet if left to it’s own devices. In its natural habitat, it wants to clamber into trees and hang down from the canopy, sort of like what bougainvillea does, but like bougainvillea, it can be kept as a shorter plant. We particularly like it espaliered against a wall or draping over arbors. A remarkable garden or container plant.
